As Imo Governor Commiserates With The Reps Member During Burial Of Father- In -Law In Obowo
Enjoins Obowo People To Continue Supporting Chike Because Of His Good Intentions

The ranking Member representing Okigwe South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Abuja, Rt Hon Deacon Chike John Okafor has been described as a good man and very positive person with good intentions at all times. The declaration was made on Thursday, January 5,2023 by the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma who spoke through the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prof Placid Njoku during the burial Ceremony of Deacon Chike’s father- in- law, Late Chief (Sir) Cyriacus Uwayeremugwu Okeke (KSJI) at Umulogho Autonomous Community, Obowo local Government Area of Imo State.
Addressing a mammoth crowd of sympathisers, relatives, friends and well wishers who thronged the reception ground shortly after Funeral mass at St Peter’s Catholic Church Umulogho and interment in the deceased Compound, the Governor of Imo State, Senator Uzodimma ably represented by his Deputy, commiserated with Deacon Chike Okafor and the family of his in- law over the death of their father at the ripe age of 92 which he acknowledged as a blessing. He admonished all and sundry to always do what is good for remembering them when they transit to the great beyond hence according to him death is inevitable.He prayed for blissful reposition of the soul of the departed elder statesman.
Speaking further, the Deputy Governor said that Deacon Chike’s wife was his Student in the University and acknowledged his cordial relationship with the federal parliamentarian whom he described as a good man that always do good things. According to him, Deacon Chike in his usual generosity and magnanimity has demonstrated his love for his wife and in-laws by packaging such a wonderful and befitting burial Ceremony for his beloved father in-law, Late Chief Sir Cyriacus Uwayeremugwu Okeke and urged him to continue with his good deeds.
Prof Njoku while thanking the people of Obowo for trouping out in their numbers to support the bereaved family, enjoined them to keep supporting Deacon Chike Okafor their illustrious son who has shown love and commitment to his people and the development of the Area.He reaffirmed of a good working relationship between the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma and their son, Deacon Chike Okafor and assured of the support and love of the Governor for Chike Okafor, reminding them of the giant strides of the 3R Shared Prosperity government in the State under Governor Uzodimma and the need to support his reelection for consolidation of his laudable achievements.
Earlier in his remark, the host and ranking Member representing Okigwe South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Abuja, Rt Hon Deacon Chike Okafor thanked the Governor of Imo State, Senator Uzodimma for honouring his father in-law by attending the burial Ceremony through his Deputy, Prof Placid Njoku.
He said that his father in-law was a kind, caring and accommodating man , who showed love to those that came around him during his life time and thanked God for giving him a long and worthy life which was being celebrated.
Deacon Chike Okafor while commending the Governor and other members of the Imo State Executive Council present for coming, reassured the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma of continued support of his people who are impressed with his developmental strides across the state and their resolve to vote massively for his reelection to enable him consolidate on his lofty achievements.
Meanwhile, the deceased, Late Chief Sir Cyriacus Uwayeremugwu Okeke whose burial mass held at St Peter’s Catholic Church, Umulogho, Obowo local Government Area was eulogized by his colleagues of the Knight of St John International who described him as peaceful, orderly and well coordinated person. The officiating priests and representative of the Catholic Bishop of Okigwe Diocese, Rt Rev Solomon Amatu enjoined family members to be patient over the death of their father whom he said died at ripe age and also for the fact that death is inevitable and that every mortal should be prepared for it.
The grand burial Ceremony attracted thousands of people from far and near who came to show solidarity to Deacon Chike Okafor and his in-laws who packaged a befitting Ceremony which is more of Celebration of Life and times of their patriarch, Chief Sir Cyriacus Uwayeremugwu Okeke ( KSJI) Prominent among those in attendance include, Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma ably represented by Deputy Governor, Prof Placid Njoku, Former Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Barrister Kennedy Ibeh, Dr Henry Okafor, Commissioner for Niger Delta Affairs, Dr Mbabuike, Commissioner for Livestock Matters, Hon Dr Love Ineh, Commissioner for Housing, Hon Pius Uwalem, Sole Administrator, Obowo local Government Area, Hon Kenneth Emelu, former Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon Chief Ifeanyichukwu Onwuenyiagba, Former Commissioner for Youths and Talent Hunt, Hon Jude Ejiogu, former Secretary to Imo State Government, former Executive Chairman of Ehime Mbano LGA, Prof Emma Ibekwe, Director General, Deacon Chike Campaign Organization Headquarters,Hon Hon Prince Kelechi Iwueze , Former Transition Committee Chairman, Ehime Mbano LGA,His Royal Highness, Eze Ngozi Uwalaka, the traditional ruler of Umulogho Autonomous Community and Chairman, Obowo local Government Area Council of Traditional Rulers, other traditional rulers and top Government functionaries too numerous to mention.
