Earlier today, the member Representing Okigwe South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor PhD, was on ground, alongside other party leaders in APC, PDP, etc., to receive the team of Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC), as they arrived Obowo Local Government headquarters, Otoko, with the election materials before the polls commenced.
Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor, speaking on behalf of the stakeholders present at the meeting, pledged their commitment to ensuring a free and fair election process in Obowo Local Government Area.
Furthermore, Hon. Dcn. Chike Okafor expressed confidence that his political party, APC will emerge victoriously sweeping all the 128 pulling boots across the 10 ISIEC Wards in Obowo Local Government Area.
The Representative of the Electoral Commission in Obowo LGA, Mrs Kelechi Nwaiwu, in her response, thanked Obowo Political Leaders for the warm reception at the Local Government Area Headquarters as she attributed the delay in arrival of the election materials to logistic problems, while promising to ensure a smooth voting process for voters in Obowo.
Also present at the occasion were Hon. Ifeanyichukwu Onwueyiagba, a Former Commissioner and a Former Aspirant for Obowo LGA Chairmanship election under the All Progressive Congress (APC); Hon. Kelechi Iwueke, APC Youth Leader, Imo State; Hon. Maltida Iro, the APC Chairperson Obowo LGA; Hon. Egbukuchi, the PDP Chairman Obowo LGA and the Representatives of other political parties in the LGA.
