IG orders posting of AIGs to zone 9, FCID annex Lagos, others
…Charges Officers to Curb Misconduct, Ensure Professionalism
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has directed the immediate deployment of Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) to head key Zonal Commands and the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Lagos.
The newly assigned AIGs include:
AIG Suleiman M. Yusuf: Deployed to Zone 9, Umuahia.
AIG Ahmed Ammani: Assigned to Zone 1, Kano.
AIG Zachariah Fera: Posted to Zone 4, Makurdi.
AIG Augustina Ogbodo: Appointed as AIG, FCID Annex, Onikan, Lagos.
These appointments follow the retirement of several AIGs who previously headed the affected zones and the promotion of the former AIG Zone 1, DIG Ari Muhammed Ali, to Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations at Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Emphasis on Professionalism and Police Reform
The IGP has tasked the newly deployed officers with ensuring strict supervision, diligence, and adherence to policing ethics. He emphasized the importance of keying into ongoing police reform initiatives to enhance professionalism and uphold ethical standards.
In a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, the IGP charged the officers to curb misconduct and maintain the highest levels of professionalism in their duties.
The IGP’s directive aims to bolster the operational efficiency of the Nigeria Police Force and contribute to the security and development of the nation.
