… Flagged off simultaneously in Ehime-Mbano, Ihitte-Uboma and Obowo LGAs
… As leaders hail the legislator for being constant as the Northern Star
On Wednesday 18th December 2024, the 8th edition of the annual Free Medical Outreach by Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor, PhD, began in all the Local Government Areas of the Federal Constituency he represents, in the House of Representatives, being Ehime Mbano, Ihitte-Uboma and Obowo LGAs.
The flag off was graced, in the three LGAs, by the Executive Chairmen of the Local Government Areas, in company of their councillors and leaders, as well as the traditional rulers.
In Obowo LGA, the outreach was flagged off by Dr. Mazi Ejikem, a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, who heads the team of seasoned consultants and medical professionals, in the team.
For the purpose of this year’s outreach, two centres, each, was selected in the three LGAs, for the consultation phase, which runs from 18th to 20th December 2024.
In Obowo, Ejikem Memorial Hospital Umulogho and McLawrence Group Hospital, Ikenanzizi was chosen.
In Ihitte-Uboma LGA, the Primary Health care centre, Isinweke, in the council headquarters and Our Saviours Hospital in Amainyi was chosen.
In Ehime-Mbano, Umuezeala -Owerre primary health centre and Umuakagu Health centre were chosen.
These centres will serve for treatment of minor cases, and identification of surgical cases, which will be scheduled for procedure, at the end of the consultation phase.
The traditional rulers offered hearty prayers, for the success and continuity of this programme, because of its undisputed and incontrovertible role in saving thousands of lives, since inception, in 2016.
Among the traditional rulers that graced the flag of in Obowo LGA are Eze Sir Patrick Ngozi Uwalaka (Umulogho) Chairman Obowo council of Traditional rulers, and Okigwe South council of Traditional rulers, Eze Sir Banabas Ubadire (Umunachi) and Eze Thankgod Adighiogu (Ezeahurukwe)
The Obowo council chairman was represented by Hon. Barr. Hyginus Onyegbule, Vice Chairman Obowo LGA, alongside the councillors.
