Governor Uzodimma Commences Distribution Of Over 10,000 Exercise Books To Schools In The Oil-producing Areas

In line with his 3R governance mantra—Rehabilitation, Reconstruction, and Recovery—the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, has reaffirmed his commitment to revitalizing the education sector through direct interventions and high-impact programs. As part of this initiative, he has commenced the distribution of over 10,000 exercise books to students in oil-producing communities across the state.

The official flag-off of this exercise took place on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area. Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC), Chief Austin Onyedebelu, emphasized that while school rehabilitation and reconstruction projects are ongoing in phases across the state, the Governor is ensuring that students—especially those in oil-producing communities—have access to essential learning materials.

Chief Onyedebelu reassured the people that this was just one of many forthcoming interventions aimed at improving education and overall development in oil-producing communities.

Also addressing the gathering, Dr. Mrs. Nina Nwulu, ISOPADEC board member in charge of education, urged the LGA Chairman, Hon. Prince Marcel Amadioha, to work with school heads in the area to guarantee that the books reach the intended beneficiaries and are utilized effectively.

In response, Hon. Amadioha expressed his appreciation for the initiative, highlighting Governor Uzodimma’s dedication to tangible development without unnecessary fanfare. He noted that despite the Governor’s numerous achievements, many remain underreported, causing outsiders to underestimate his far-reaching impact—until they witness it firsthand.

Present at the event was the Special Adviser to the Governor on ISOPADEC affairs, Hon. Oputa and the board members of the commission.
