IMSU Alumni Partners Nans, Confederation Of Faculty Presidents To Clean Up IMSU

Imo State University Alumni Association (IMSUAA) was part of a Clean-Up Exercise carried out at the main campus of Imo State University, Owerri on Saturday, 29th March, 2025.

The event organized by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Zone F in conjunction with Confederation of Faculty Presidents in IMSU themed; Our Home, Our Sanity was aimed at engendering a clean and healthy IMSU Campus.

The organizers had sought the collaboration of IMSUAA to enable them execute the project which NEC expressly gave a nod by directing the Secretary – General, Dr. Majesty Duru and the Imo (Mother) Chapter Leadership to represent IMSUAA.

A release by the National publicity secretary of IMSU Alumni, Sinikiem Ayoko (Radio Doctor) says as part of logistics, the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000) Only was donated by IMSUAA to facilitate the cleaning exercise.

Receiving the donation, the Secretary -General of NANS Zone F, Jacinta Chinedu Alfred thanked IMSUAA for the kind gesture and commended the Alumni’s prompt response to their call despite the short notice.

The NANS Secretary -General who is of IMSU origin also intimated the IMSUAA delegation of the absence of a functional Students Union Government (SUG) in IMSU thus, NANS Zone F and Faculty Leadership have been filling the void.

She appealed to IMSUAA to assist her in facilitating the restoration of the SUG in the school.

Responding, Chairman of Imo (Mother) Chapter, Barr. Okey Nwelue assured the NANS Scribe of the willingness of IMSUAA to assist the students, while IMSUAA Secretary -General, Dr. Majesty Duru who hailed the students leadership for the initiative to keep the campus clean, advised them to always inform the Alumni ahead of time in their future activities.

This Clean Up Exercise with the significant role played by IMSUAA, no doubt has warmed the Alumni into the heart of the student community, and one could safely say the process of re-establishing IMSUAA’s presence in IMSU is on course.
