Easter of Grace: Imo Governor’s Daughter, Prada Uzodimma, Hosts Empowerment Fun Fair for Elderly Women and Widows
Omuma, the headquarters of Oru East LGA, came alive on Easter Sunday as Prada Uzodimma—daughter of the Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma—hosted a joyful and impactful Fun Fair for elderly women and widows in her home local government.

The event, held in the spirit of compassion and community, saw over 350 women treated to an afternoon of games, entertainment, feeding, and generous giveaways. Gift items included bags of rice, garri, beans, wrappers, cooking oil, other foodstuff, and cash support—distributed amidst an atmosphere of gratitude and celebration.

This outreach reflected Prada Uzodimma’s strong commitment to community upliftment and grassroots engagement, especially in Oru East, her LGA of origin. The initiative was met with widespread appreciation from attendees who praised her consistent efforts to empower vulnerable groups.

The event also builds on her work as founder of the Prada Uzodimma Imo Indigenes Scholarship Grant (PUIISG), which has provided scholarships to indigent students at Imo State University, deepening her footprint in educational and social development.

A day before the Fun Fair, she received courtesy visits from the Albinism Association of Nigeria (Imo State Chapter) and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS). The Albinism Association honoured her with an award for her past outreach efforts within their community, while NANS commended her support for student welfare and education advocacy.

Dignitaries present included Hon. Nnamdi Okwareigwe (Chairman, Oru East LGA), Hon. Kenneth Okafor (President General Omuma Central Union and Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs), Hon. Emeka Mandela (Commissioner for Youth Development), and Hon. Eric Uwakwe (Special Adviser on Youth Affairs).

The event was a resounding success, further reinforcing Prada Uzodimma’s growing reputation as a passionate advocate for social impact and inclusive empowerment across Imo State.
