IMSU Alumni Begins 2025 Convention in Owerri, Thursday

All is set for the National Convention, Homecoming and Annual General Meeting of the Imo State University Alumni Association tagged, “Heartland 2025” in Owerri, the Imo state capital.

The event scheduled to start from Thursday, August 14, 2025 with a courtesy visit on the Chairman of Southeast Traditional Institution and Chairman, Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers/ Community Policing, HRM Eze (Dr) Emmanuel Okeke at the “Eze Imo” Palace, Mbari Street,Owerri.

Briefing newsmen in Owerri on Monday, Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), Barr Damian Nosike said that all necessary preparations ahead of the convention is currently at 99 percent, and assured Imo Stars of adequate security in Owerri.

According to him, “the misconception that Imo State is not safe occasioned by insecurity remains a mirage. This insinuations triggered Imo chapter to apply for the hosting right of the 2025 convention. This is to use the platform to show the world that Owerri, which remains the hub of hospitality is safe and secure for business”.

Barr Nosike, while commending the Imo Chapter Chairman, Barr Okey Nwelue and his Exco for providing the committee with necessary logistics to drive the programme, promised that such trust reposed in them would never be regretted.

He therefore assured Imo Stars coming from all parts of the globe into Imo state of adequate security, hospitality and level playing field, and reiterated his resolve in ensuring that the Imo convention remains indelible in the minds of members as the best in the history of alumni programmes.
