Agabige Receives Royal Blessings From Orsu Monarchs For Good Performance And Special Homage Paying Visit Ahead Of 2025 New Yam Festival

The ranking Member representing Orsu State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly and Chairman House Committee on Agriculture,Rt. Hon. Engr. Uche Francis Agabige(Ifechukwukwuru) has been described as a worthy and purposeful representative who has shown passion and interest in the development of Orsu State Constituency and upliftment of the indigenes of the Area, considering his humility, good sense of judgement and positive efforts made so far in providing quality and effective representation as a Lawmaker.

The declaration was made penultimate Thursday, 14th August 2025 by the Orsu local Government Area Council of traditional rulers who received the House Member,Hon Agabige on a homage paying visit to the Royal Fathers ahead of their new yam festivals at the Palace of the Council Chairman,His Royal Majesty,Eze Dr II Okorigwe, Okukoro 2 of Awo-Idemili Ancient Kingdom.

According to the Royal fathers who were in their elements, indeed impressed with Hon Agabige and spoke through Eze Godwin Okwuaka of Assar Ubirielem Ancient Kingdom,they acknowledged Hon Agabige’s steadfastness and good intentions to give Orsu LGA the best representation and encouraged him to continue with the good work .The Monarchs charged him to do more exploits by finding ways and means to attract State government’s intervention for reconstruction and rehabilitation of destroyed infrastructure in Orsu local Government Area since the insurgency started.They thanked him for his good representation and further requested the House Member to provide the needed leadership by reaching out to other stakeholders, including Ndi-Eze and other non partisan groups to forge united front for urgent socioeconomic transformation of the Council Area.


Other traditional rulers who spoke to support the position of Eze Godwin Okwuaka which included Eze Dr II Okorigwe of Awo-Idemili Ancient Kingdom and Chairman, Orsu LGA Council of Traditional Rulers,Eze Igodo Udo of Umuhu Okabia Ancient Kingdom and Eze Oliver Ochoma of Elugwu Okabia eulogized the lawmaker for being cool headed,responsive and peace loving and acknowledged that his Peace Again Campaign mantra has started manifesting/ yielding fruit with the near return of peace to the Council Area.They made special Appeal for more interventions from the state government and the urgent need to reopen and rebuild various markets in the Area.

Earlier in his remark, the Orsu ranking lawmaker,Hon Engr Uche Agabige informed the Orsu Monarchs that he deemed it necessary to pay homage to them as a mark of honour and respect ahead of the commemoration of this year’s new yam festival by Communities in the Council Area.He reminded them of his cordial relationship with the traditional rulers over the years and how he made it an important policy to attend their functions, especially the annual new yam festival at their individual palaces during his first missionary journey as a Lawmaker and informed that he decided to pay a collective homage to them ahead of this year’s festival considering the fact that he might not find it possible to visit them individually because of the situation of things at the Homeland.

Hon Agabige expressed appreciation for their support during his campaign and also felt that he should use the season of the new yam festival to thank them.He reminded the Royal Fathers of his Peace Again Campaign mantra during his electioneering campaign when he promised to pursue restoration of peace and normalcy as his cardinal objective if reelected into the House and expressed joy that with collective efforts of all stakeholders, peace is returning to the hitherto troubled and abandoned homeland of Orsu LGA.

On the issue of rebuilding the destroyed infrastructure and markets,Hon Agabige assured the Royal Fathers that the Imo State government under the able leadership of Distinguished Senator Hope Odidika Uzodimma CON GSSRS (Onwa Oyoko) has shown commitment to ensure that peace returns to the local Government Area and reassured that the government will soon enter Orsu for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of it’s destroyed infrastructure.He called for more support for the government and collective participation in the efforts to achieve total restoration of peace in the Area.

Highpoint of the event was special blessings and prayer for Hon Agabige who was requested to step forward to receive royal blessings made on behalf of the traditional rulers by the oldest and most senior traditional ruler in Orsu local Government Area,His Royal Highness, Eze W.O Igwe, the Ozuomee of Amaruru Ancient Kingdom.They prayed fervently for more political elevation/promotion of Hon Agabige who according to them deserves more feathers on his cap.

The traditional rulers present during the new yam homage paying visit included: Eze Dr II Okorigwe, Okukoro 2 of Awo-Idemili Ancient Kingdom and Chairman Orsu LGA Council of Traditional Rulers,Eze W. Igwe , Ozuomee of Amaruru Ancient Kingdom,Eze Smart Eresiba, the traditional ruler of Etiti Okabia,Eze Godwin Okwuaka,Ezebube of Assar Ubirielem Ancient Kingdom,Eze Felix Onyejurunwa ,Igodo Udo of Umuhu Okabia Ancient Kingdom, Eze Oliver Ochoma of Elugwu Okabia Autonomous Community,Eze Lazrus Onwunaegbule of Amankwo Autonomous Community and Eze Michael Abanigbo of Ebanasaa Amaruru Autonomous Community.Hon Agabige was accompanied by his top political associates including,Hon Uchenna Osigwe, former Special Adviser to the Governor,Hon Chief Greg Obioha, former Specia Adviser to the Governor on Chieftaincy Affairs and Hon Emma Uguru,Peace Campaign Director General.Also present was the Personal Assistant to the Chairman of Orsu Council of Traditional Rulers,High Chief John Utasi,Ebubedike of Awo-Idemili Ancient Kingdom.
