Sen. Kalu Hails De Imperial Philanthropic Family At 6th AGM

The former Governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia North Senatorial district, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, was among the high-profile dignitaries who graced the 6th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Ascension Night of the De Imperial Philanthropic Family (DIPF), held in Lagos over the weekend.

The event, which took place on October 30 and culminated with the Ascension Night on November 1, 2025, brought together an influential network of business leaders and entrepreneurs, predominantly of South-East extraction.

Speaking at the gathering, Senator Kalu highly commended the humanitarian organization for its structured approach to social impact.

“I am impressed with the organization which has a well-structured, high-profile philanthropic network of business leaders and entrepreneurs, principally from the South-East,” Senator Kalu stated.

The Lawmaker congratulated the group for their credible philanthropic initiatives, visible leadership, and the brotherhood they share among themselves for the benefit of Ndigbo.

Kalu’s remarks is a confirmation of the vital role wealthy individuals play in channeling resources toward regional development.

The DIPF, led by its National President, High Chief Dr. (Sir) Darlington Nwabunike, focused the AGM on the theme: “The Emerging Southeast: Re-Inventing Its Past Glory.”

9japarrot report that the organization has been actively involved in major community projects, including, Managing a massive scholarship scheme, currently targeting thousands of students, Planning the development of a state-of-the-art N120 billion Cancer Diagnostic Centre in the South-East, among others.

A major highlight of the Ascension Night was the presentation of ₦500 million to the wives of DIPF members as a strategic empowerment initiative to boost family based economic foundations.

The gathering also featured the Senator Victor Umeh, Senator Tony Nwoye, Obi Cubana and other distinguished personalities, who all reinforced the call for unity and investment in the homeland (Akụluọụnọ).
