During the week, the member representing Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna, redeemed promises to winners of the Rt. Hon Ozurigbo Ugonna Inter Secondary School Quiz Competition
Rep Ozurigbo was represented at the presentation by members of the Friends of OZB International led by its Chancellor, Hon. Chizobam O Chizobam.
Hon. Chizobam in his speech, reiterated the importance of education highlighting it as the only pathway to success as well as the progenitor of an improved society.
He asserted that the Chief sponsor of the competition is one individual who holds education at a very high esteem and is known to notoriously engage in any activity that promotes education or its like.
Furthermore, the former Executive Chairman of Nwangele LGA noted that OZB in his first term as a lawmaker at the House of Representatives instituted a Bursary Scheme for Students in Tertiary institutions, a clear example of his endearment to education.
While presenting the prizes to students of the winning schools, he urged the school management to be appreciative of their students who earned them glory by winning such coveted the prizes while advising them to use the items presented to them appropriately and for the interest of the school.
The principals of the schools expressed excess love for Enyioha Gburugburu, who according to them has distanced himself from the usual political rigmarolling of promises without fulfillment.
The highlight of the visits was the presentation of a mowing machine to IsuNjaba High School, who came third in the competition held in 2022.
Students from the prize winning schools who participated in the competition were also registered for the upcoming West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) 2023 Examination.
Recall that King Jaja High School, Amaigbo, Nwangele LGA and Comprehensive Secondary School, Nkume Njaba LGA, won a classroom block and Solar Borehole respectively, which has since been redeemed while fourth place Nkwerre High School took custody of 1000 exercise books as consolation prize.
Present at the occasion were leadership of FOI including, Hon. Kingsley Owuama, Hon. Nelson Uchechi Nwanna, Hon. Onyema Agbarakwe, Mr. Emeka Onuoha, Barr Uju Jessica Anyiam, Hon. Hyginus Ihegworo, Hon. Ezenwa Akuta and Mr. Callistus Enyioha.
