The member representing Ehime Mbano, Ihitte-Uboma and Obowo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor has flagged his annual Senior School Certificate Examination enrollment for indigent students in the entire Okigwe South Federal Constituency.
Briefing newsmen, after inaugurating a committee to that effect, on Thursday 18th January, 2024, the declared that the WAEC Enrollment exercise has never been a political tool nor does it have party colouration, as it is a project he started 16 years ago, long before his sojourn into politics.
During the committee Inauguration, Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor charged them to go all out and ensure the this effort benefits the poorest of the poor, and people with connection or those that can afford it.
The mandate of the committee, drawn from the three Local Government Areas of the Federal Constituency is to get target beneficiaries from the 75 autonomous communities in Okigwe South as there is no community without SSCE candidates.
He announced that the minimum number expected from the committee is 150 Students, and the good things is that there is no maximum, as the Lord provides.
It will be recalled that Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor was mobbed by WAEC Enrollment beneficiaries, in wild ecstasy and spontaneous elation, in February 2023, when he performed the same exercise, which got naysayers muttering things about political undertones, for a project that has been on since 2009.
