Hon. Chike Okafor Speaks on Committee Achievements at NSN 54th Scientific Conference
The member Representing Okigwe South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Chairman Committee on Nutrition and Food Security, Hon. Chike Okafor was special guest at the 54th Scientific conference and annual general meeting of the Nutrition Society of Nigeria (NSN), which kicked off Tuesday, September 17 2024, in the ancient city of Kano.
In attendance was His Excellency, the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen. Kashim Shettima, ably represented by Mrs Uju Anwuka, the Special Adviser to the President on Public Health and the focal person, Nutrition Core Working Committee in the Presidency.
His Highness Khalifa Muhammad Sanusi II PHD (CON), the Emir of Kano, the BOT chairman of NSN was present, his Excellency, the governor of Kano State, was ably represented by his Chief of Staff.
Representatives from various ministries were equally present for this grand occasion.
In his keynote speech, Hon. Okafor was able to share with the audience on how much work his committee is puting into ensuring food security and Nutrition and most especially the role they are playing to ensure they achieve the laudable objectives of accessibility, food security, nutrition and removing bottlenecks hindering sustainable development.
Navigating the nutrition frontiers is indeed a reality when all hands are on deck by deploying innovative strategies in partnership with development partners.
