Just In: Archbishop Augustine Akubueze is dead
I knew him a Priest of Catholic Diocese of Issele- Uku, Delta State, where he rose to become the Vicar General, before his Episcopal Ordination and installation as the first Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Uromi, when it was created in 2006. 6 years later, in 2012, he became the Archbishop of Catholic Archdiocese of Benin, following the Resignation of Bishop Burke.
Archbishop Akubueze was also President of the Catholic Bishop’s Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), and handed over to Archbishop Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji of the Catholic Archdiocese of Owerri.
