Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, in his capacity as the Chairman of the South East Governors Forum, has officially flagged off the distribution of President Bola Tinubu’s palliatives for the South East today at the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Secretariat in Owerri.
This initiative underscores his dedicated efforts to ensure that the people in the Southeast receive essential relief during challenging times, exemplifying President Tinubu’s commitment to assisting those in greatest need.
The governor, in his address, stated that the palliatives are ways to help cushion the effects of the subsidy removal in a bid to recover the country’s economy.
The governor who expressed the president’s commitment to ensuring the well-being of the people emphasized the significance of providing relief and other support to citizens, particularly during the festive season.
He said that the truck’s truckloads of rice they came to flag off the distribution neither came from the State nor Federal Government, but rather a personal donation from President Tinubu to the Christians as gifts to the South East.
He urged the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Imo State chapter to ensure the palliatives are shared amongst Christians throughout the southeast.
