Owerri Club Emergency Meeting Held Today, 1st May, 2025 In The Club Hall; Suspend Charles Okeke And Others
Chairman of Owerri Club Interim Management Committee, Ezinwa Onyebuchi Obinwa this morning addressed an emergency meeting of the club. He reiterated that no EGM was called today and that members should remain peaceful and await the intervention of the Registered Trustees of Owerri Club. He condemned the illegal access to the club by Mr Charles Okeke with hired thugs. He said members should remain law-abiding and refrain from joining issues with the dissolved EXCO asserting that they have been dissolved and remain so. He said his Management will run an open administration free of corruption and abiding by the club constitution.
The meeting resolved as follows:
- That Charles Okeke, Emeka Omeaku, Udo Okereke, Dr. Akuchie and Mr Victor Onyebuchi be suspended immediately for holding an illegal EGM, breaking and entry into the club and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.
- A Committee be set-up to investigate the actions of the suspended members.
- Passed a vote of confidence on the Interim Management Committee.
