Awuzie Frankline writes An Open Letter To His Excellency, Barr Peter Mbah of Enugu State
Executive Governor of Enugu State
By Awuzie Frankline ✍️
Your Excellency, I write not just as an investor but as a man who has tied his life to Enugu State through marriage, residence, and enterprise. In 2013, while serving as a youth corps member in the Ministry of Lands, Enugu, I used my allowance and savings to acquire land at Umunnajingene, Ugwuaji Awkunanaw. It was more than a personal investment, it was my way of sowing into the future of Enugu.
Our rights as genuine allottees were officially recognized. Under former Governor Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi, our names were gazetted and published in The Sun of August 2, 2021. My name was clearly listed as No. 375 among lawful beneficiaries. Yet today, that same land has been resold and developed under your administration without compensation, consultation, or explanation. This injustice leaves me disheartened as an outsider who trusted Enugu with my hard-earned resources.
Beyond land, I have contributed to Enugu’s growth by creating jobs through my transportation business, supporting families and livelihoods. I have shown love for this land in word and deed. To be treated this way, in a place I have embraced as home, is painful and unfair.
My plea is simple, return my land. If that is no longer possible, then justice demands adequate compensation for all rightful and gazetted owners. This is not only about me—it is about fairness, credibility, and the future of Enugu as a safe and trustworthy destination for investment. Your Excellency, I still believe in your promise of transparent governance, and I trust that you will act with fairness in this matter.
