North Central Development Commission (NCDC) holds two-day Policy Review Retreat

The North Central Development Commission (NCDC), including the Chairman and board members have embarked on a productive two-day Policy Review Retreat of the Commission, held in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

The retreat was a crucial step to strengthen the Commission’s institutional foundation and operational readiness ahead of its full take-off. The event drew key stakeholders, including the host, H.E. Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, Senator Titus Zam (Chairman, Senate Committee on NCDC), and the Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh.

According to the South South Representative of the board, Mrs. Rachel Kufre Nse:
Our focus was clear: to forge a path for inclusive and sustainable development across the North Central region.

Our Key Outcomes and Commitments include:

- Actionable Strategies: Generation of concrete, actionable strategies tailored for inclusive and sustainable development across the states.

- Equitable Distribution: Strong emphasis and commitment to the equitable distribution of projects and interventions, ensuring every part of the region benefits fairly.

- Fiscal Accountability: Renewed commitment to transparency and accountability in the implementation of the ambitious N140 billion 2025 budget

According to Mrs Nse, ”During the review sessions, I made a strong contribution emphasizing the critical importance of security as the bedrock of development. I specifically advocated for a robust framework that prioritizes Community Policing to foster local ownership, gather critical intelligence, and ensure the safety required for our projects to succeed.”

The NCDC is now better positioned and energized for full deployment. We remain resolute in our mission to transform the North Central region.
