Mazi Mbonu Ojike was a Nigerian nationalist, writer, and cultural crusader. Born in 1912 in Arondizuogu, IDEATO NORTH LGA, Imo State, Nigeria, he was a prominent figure in the fight against colonialism and a strong advocate for African cultural identity and economic independence.
He advocated for economic independence, coining the phrase “Boycott the Boycottables” to promote the rejection of European goods and support for local industries.
Mazi Mbonu Ojike is remembered as a pioneer of African nationalism and a champion of cultural identity.
He was a member of the National Council of Nigeria and Cameroon (NCNC) and held various positions, including Deputy Mayor of Lagos and Minister of Finance in the Eastern Region.
Mr. Ojike studied at Lincoln University, University of Illinois, and the Ohio State University, earning degrees in economics and education.
His ideas and writings continue to inspire future generations.
Dr. Kingsley Ozuomba Mbadiwe, also known as K.O. Mbadiwe, AGADA GBACHIRI UZO, AMBASSADOR PLENEPOTENTIARY, THE POLITICAL WORDSMITH, was a renowned Nigerian nationalist, politician, statesman, and government minister. Born in 1915 in Arondizuogu, IDEATO NORTH LGA, Imo State, he played a pivotal role in Nigeria’s struggle for independence and subsequent political development.
Dr. Mbadiwe was a key figure in Nigeria’s nationalist movement, advocating for independence and self-governance.
He held various ministerial positions, including Minister of Lands and National Resources, Minister of Commerce, and Minister of Aviation. Mbadiwe was a strong advocate for Pan-Africanism, promoting unity and cooperation among African nations.
Dr. K.O. Mbadiwe is remembered for his tireless efforts to promote Nigerian unity, stability, and development. His legacy continues to inspire future generations of Nigerian leaders and politicians.
Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, the current National Vice Chairman, APC, South East Zone, is also from the same Arondizuogu, IDEATO NORTH LGA, Imo State. It is absolutely impossible to discuss the pre and post Nigeria independent without the mention of the Ideato nation; and in Imo State, Ideato Nation is a political, economic, and socio-cultural epicentre.

My path crossed with the great mind, the great soul of Arondizuogu and an illustrious son of Ideato nation, in 2021 during our APC National assignment as Chairmen of seven APC National Committees in Enugu State and Ebonyi State respectively under the then National Chairman of our great party His Excellency Mai Mala Buni Governor of Yobe State.
Our names became recurring decimals at the APC National Secretariat as we both chaired seven different committees during that exercise. Most people do not know this, but it was Dr. Arodiogbu, who gave my phone number to Dr. Benson Chika Abazu and asked him to call me if he was serious about contesting for the Ideato Federal Constituency election in 2023. That was how l got to know Dr. Abazu, though we were from the same town. The rest is now history and for posterity.

Dr. Arodiogbu has been mobilizing party members and stakeholders in the five South East states to support the APC’s agenda and candidates. He has been advocating for the interests of the Southeast region and pushing for more appointments and projects for the area.
Dr. Arodiogbu has demonstrated leadership skills, working closely with other party leaders, governors, and stakeholders to achieve the ruling party’s goals in the region.

His passion for our great party, the APC, and his assignment is not only contagious but also his footsteps on the footprints of his progenitors is legendary. Posterity shall be kind to him.
