Imo State @ 50: Interdenominational Service, Ground-Breaking Ceremony to Kick Off Golden Jubilee
Imo State is set to start her 50th anniversary celebration with series of activities mapped out to mark five decades of her creation, beginning with an interdenominational service at the Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Square (RANKS).

The service will usher in the golden jubilee celebrations with prayers of thanksgiving, unity, and peace, bringing together Christian leaders, government officials, traditional rulers, and citizens from across the state. It is designed to reflect on the state’s journey since its creation in 1976 and to seek divine guidance for its future.
Beyond the interdenominational service, the programme features other engaging activities aimed at celebrating Imo State’s heritage and progress. A major highlight of the day will be the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the Imo Hall of Fame and Archives, a landmark project intended to preserve the State’s history and honour individuals who have contributed significantly to its development.
The anniversary activities are expected to showcase the achievements of Imo State while reaffirming commitment to sustained growth and development in the years ahead.
