Imo State Initiates Major Agro-Industrial Devt Project with International Call for Partners
The Imo State Government has officially announced a significant request for proposals for a landmark agricultural infrastructure project.

Funded with financing from the African Development Bank under the Federal Government of Nigeria’s Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) Program, the initiative seeks a qualified contractor for the comprehensive Design, Build, and Operation of a new Agro-Industrial Hub and Agricultural Transformation Center.
This project forms a key component of the nationwide SAPZ Program, currently active in Imo, Kaduna, Oyo, Cross River, and Ogun States. The allocated funds will cover the contract for developing the facilities in Oloshi, located within the Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State.

The envisioned development will be executed on a substantial scale, utilizing a site-and-services model across 150 hectares for the Agro-Industrial Hub and an additional 20 hectares for the Agricultural Transformation Center. The required scope of work encompasses the complete design, construction, and subsequent operation of the facilities. Planned infrastructure includes comprehensive fencing, an administrative block, quality control and social buildings, internal road networks, drainage systems, and essential utilities for power supply, water, sewage, wastewater treatment, and solid waste management.
Procurement for this contract will follow Open Competitive Bidding (International) procedures, in strict accordance with the African Development Bank’s Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations. All payments to the successful contractor will be managed via the Bank’s Direct Payment disbursement method.
Eligible international firms and consortia are invited to submit sealed proposals. Detailed information and bidding documents are accessible through the African Development Bank’s procurement portal.
