City Boy Movement: Grassroots Mobilization Tops Kalu’s Message to Obi Cubana

Environmental advocate, Mr. Nnanna Kalu, has called for intensified grassroots mobilization in the South East, stressing the need to properly inform citizens about the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Kalu who hails from Ohafia in Abia State, noted that a significant segment of the grassroots population remains either misinformed or inadequately informed about key federal government policies, reforms and development initiatives, a situation he said continues to negatively shape public opinion.

The founder of Embassy Cleaning, a clean environment advocacy agency focused on hygienic living and industrial cleaning services, emphasized that the City Boy Movement, a support group for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has a strategic role to play in correcting misinformation and deepening public understanding of governance, particularly at the community level where access to credible information is often limited.

Against this backdrop, Kalu congratulated, his friend and associate, businessman and socialite, Chief Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, on his appointment as Director of the City Boy Movement for the South East, describing the development as timely and thoughtful.

Recall that Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, recently visited Obi Cubana at his Abuja residence, where he formally presented him with his letter of appointment as South East Director of the Movement.

The appointment has since generated mixed reactions across political and business circles, with some critics describing it as a betrayal of Mr. Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State and the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party who hails from Anambra State as Iyiegbu.

However, several entrepreneurs and business leaders have risen in defence of Obi Cubana, arguing that his decision to accept the appointment reflects civic responsibility rather than partisan betrayal and highlights the importance of inclusive participation in national development.

According to Kalu, “Obi Cubana’s influence, credibility, and deep-rooted connection with the grassroots uniquely position him to drive effective mobilization and engagement across communities in the South East”.

The pioneer industrial cleaning egghead, using modern technologies, expressed confidence that under Obi Cubana’s leadership, the group would bridge existing information gaps, promote accurate public enlightenment, and strengthen citizen participation in governance.

Kalu reaffirmed his commitment, through advocacy and civic engagement, to initiatives that promote informed citizenship, healthy living, and sustainable development across the region.
