Chief Austin Onyedebelu took to his social media handle and wrote:

I am deeply honoured and grateful to His Royal Majesty, Eze (Dr.) Vitus Uchenna Kasa, Okwadike, Assa II of Assa Ngugo, for conferring on me the prestigious chieftaincy title of Dike Anyi Nwere N’Mba 1 of Assa Ngugo, Ikeduru Local Government Area, during the 2026 Iri Ji of Assa Kingdom at Ngugo Autonomous Community.

My beloved wife, Pharmacist Mrs. Ndidi Onyedebelu, was equally honoured with the title of Oso Di Ya Eme 1 of Assa Ngugo. We receive these honours with profound gratitude, humility and a renewed sense of responsibility to our people and society.

For me, this recognition goes beyond a traditional title. It represents a call to greater service, stronger community engagement and an enduring commitment to the values of leadership, integrity, peace and development. I remain convinced that true leadership is measured not by the titles we bear, but by the positive impact we make in the lives of our people.

I sincerely appreciate His Royal Majesty for this distinguished recognition and for preserving the rich cultural heritage, traditions and institutions of our people. The Iri Ji of Assa Kingdom remains a significant expression of our identity, unity and communal strength.

I also congratulate my Chief of Staff, Chief Innocent Amadi Alonzo (Agunechemba), who was equally conferred with a chieftaincy title as the Mayor of Assa Ngugo, Ikeduru. This recognition is well deserved, and I pray that it inspires him to continue serving with dedication, humility and an unwavering commitment to the common good.

I specially acknowledge my elder brother, HRH Eze Stan Onyedebelu of Ofekatta III, Awo-Ommama who was honored to decorate me; and many thanks to the members of the APC Imo State Working Committee for their unwavering support, loyalty and dedication to our collective mission. Leadership is strengthened by teamwork, trust and a shared commitment to a common purpose. I deeply value the cooperation and solidarity we continue to demonstrate as we work to build a stronger, more united and people-oriented APC in Imo State.

As State Chairman of our great party, I remain committed to providing purposeful leadership, strengthening our grassroots structures, promoting internal cohesion and ensuring that the APC remains responsive to the aspirations of the people. Our task is clear: to consolidate our gains, deepen our engagement with communities and sustain a political culture anchored on service, discipline and development.

I equally extend my profound appreciation to His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, Governor of Imo State, for his exemplary leadership, strategic direction and unwavering commitment to the development of our state. His administration’s dedication to infrastructure, institutional strengthening and improved opportunities for our people continues to provide an important foundation for our collective aspirations.

As the leader of our party in Imo State, Governor Uzodimma’s guidance remains invaluable to our efforts to sustain party unity, strengthen political participation and advance the ideals of the APC.

I dedicate these honours to my family, the APC family in Imo State and the good people of our state, whose trust and support continue to inspire my commitment to public service.

I accept these titles with gratitude and a solemn resolve to do more. Honour must translate into responsibility, leadership must produce results, and service must remain the ultimate measure of our commitment to the people.

May Assa Ngugo Kingdom continue to prosper in peace, unity and development. May Imo State continue to advance, and may our great party, the APC, remain united, progressive and steadfast in its mission to deliver good governance to our people.
