Teachers’ Recruitment Fallout: Anambra Education Commissioner Must Speak Up

By Francis Ndimkoha

Ptof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, Anambra State Commissioner for Education

I believe the Anambra State Commissioner for Education needs to urgently address the trending issue concerning her office and the recruitment process for teachers in the State.

One would also want to ask, “what’s the New Media team of the Government doing, to manage the situation?”. Scandals cannot be the best way to mark 100 days in office.

Only those who haven’t held public office, and had to contend with the inherent and undue pressure involved will rush to attack someone based on an edited voice note. Edited, it is, because there are no images on a voice call, and a call usually has too speakers.

We need to hear what the supposed caller said. Because I believe, given the Nigerian situation, that only an “upscale Nigerian” (apologies for Mrs. Akeredolu), who most likely seeks an undue advantage or intends to cut corners, will be speaking with the State Commissioner, directly, as an applicant.

So, let’s hear from the Commissioner or the New Media team, and fast too, before we judge.
