The Traditional Rulers of Orsu Local government area of Imo state, comprising of, His Royal Highness Eze Dr. I. Okoligwe the Traditional Ruler of Awo-Idemili who also doubles as the Chairman Council of Traditional Rulers Orsu LGA, His Royal Highness Eze Felix Onyejurunwa of Umuhu Okabia, His Royal Highness, Eze Oliver Ochomma of Elugwu Okabia and His Royal Highness Eze Smart Ubah of Amakpara together with their People on Tuesday 30th of August, 2022 endorsed and anointed the APC candidate for Orlu Orsu and Oru East Federal Constitutency at the upcoming 2023 polls, Hon. High Chief Canice Moore Nwachukwu popularly called Omeogo, Ogbaturuenyi Na Orlu to represent them at the Green Chambers.
While blessing the beautiful bride, the Orsu Chairman of Traditional Rulers on behalf of other royal fathers, affirmed that, things have changed politically, hence the 2023 general election, is not going to be based on party but individuals whose past track records are unbeatable and speak volume.
He continued, that Omeogo’s visit to his LGA together with people’s testimony of his good ways of life shows that God and his people are in full support of his candidature, as he said, “The voice of the people is the voice of God”.
These Natural Rulers, in one voice said, as long as the testimonies of the people about Omeogo are positive, they can’t go against the people’s project, but to add their own support through their Royal Blessings which was done as their custom demand by washing of his legs.
As these traditional Rulers, are washing his legs and releasing blessings on him, the good people of Orsu together with his team witnessed the washing of omeogo’s legs, watched with happiness while rejoicing as they said, with this Royal Blessings, Omeogo victory is signed, sealed and delivered.
More interestingly, the traditional rulers advised Omeogo to make sure that his tenure will serve as a restoration of peace and happiness to the three LGA namely Orlu, Orsu and Oru East, which make up the Federal Constituency which Omeogo is going to represent at the National Assembly when he wins at the 2023 general elections.
Earlier, The APC candidate for Orlu Orsu and Oru East Federal Constitutency, Hon. High Chief Canice Moore Nwachukwu, was called upon to address the Royal fathers, by Hon. Stanley Nwaosu APC Chairman Orlu LGA.
The APC candidate, Nwachukwu, told the Monarchs that he would not embark on any campaign in Orsu LGA once ban on campaigns is lifted by INEC without first coming beforehand to pay them homage and seek their Royal Blessings and permission to allow him canvas support from our people in Orsu LGA.
“Our coming here today is very simple and we are here for tactical consultation with the topmost leaders, to seek your blessings, advise on how best to win the election and your permission to talk to our people of Orsu LGA once INEC lifts ban on campaigns. I can not go to solicit for my people’s support and votes in our Constitutency without first of all seeking your permissions and blessings to enable me move ahead and meet our people/ your subjects, he said.
Omeogo further likened the role of traditional Rulers to that of ancient settings where they were used as custodians of laws and orders. “Yes by your role as our fathers, you are not supposed to be involved in politics but you can give body language to our people” he added.
According to Hon. Emmanuel Dike, who was the moderator of the event, the political calculations in their Federal Constituency favour Omeogo and a vote for him (Omeogo) is a vote for equity, fairness and justice. He continued, It will be an abnormalities for another Orsu man to replace an Orsu, come 2023 election, since the current legislator who is still serving hails from Orsu LGA and is currently doing his third term.
Adding his voice, the Hon. Commissioner for labour and productivity, Hon. Ford Ozumba assured the traditional rulers that once Omeogo emerges successful at the 2023 poll they are sure he will remember them and do better than any other candidates.
The high point of the event was washing of omeogo’s leg by the Orsu Traditional Rulers chairman together with his Deputy and other rulers who equally participated in such important ritual.

Prince Stanley Nwosu (Ochinwata), the Orlu APC Youth Leader, Chief Henry Egwuatu (Ozuome), the APC Chairman Oru East, APC Chairman Orsu LGA, their Executives, the Coordinators of Development Centers of Orlu South, Orlu East and Orlu West, Orsu South, Orsu Central and Orsu North, Orsu APC candidate for 2023 Imo state house of Assembly election.
