APC 2023: We will hit the ground running once INEC Lifts ban on campaigns – Augustine Onyedebelu

… As APC South-East Zonal Executive Committee drum up support for the party in Imo state

In further efforts to strengthen and reposition the party in Imo State, the South-East Zonal Publicity Secretary, Chief Augustine Onyedebelu, arrived the state one day early ahead of the scheduled meeting of candidates from Okigwe zone, Mbaise and Ngor Okpala.

Using this opportunity to attend a meeting of APC Orlu Zonal Executives, critical plans were drawn up on how to kick off the campaign as soon as INEC lifts ban on campaign on September 28, 2022.

In meetings took place on Thursday 22nd September 2022, at the State Party Secretariat in Owerri, Chief Onyedebelu reminded them that His Excellency, the Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma is from Orlu Zone, therefore Orlu must put their best foot forward in the campaign to showcase his infrastructural developments and woo great support for our party. He further encouraged them to move into the grassroots and ignore every nnegative claims in the social media. He further assured them that the National Vice Chairman South-East, Dr. Ijeoma Arodiogbu, being an Orlu son is very invested in supporting Orlu Zone for victory in the polls.

Accompanied by the Imo State Party Chairman, Dr. McDonald Ebere PhD, Chief Onyedebelu and his media team also attended a meeting of all support groups in Imo state to assess their readiness to hit the ground running come September 28, 2022 when the ban on campaigns has been lifted.

The State Chairman, in his usual wisdom, invited them to this meeting, with over 62 well-constituted APC support groups in attendance, to assess and identify the strong and resolute groups. In his speech, the Chairman said that today is to evaluate the Executive structure of these groups to determine how the party will assist them to carry out the campaign when the ban is lifted. The Executives were urged to go home to their base and build their support group membership.

In his address, the South-East Zonal Publicity Secretary, Chief Augustine Onyedebelu, urged them to ensure that every statewide support group originates from the wards in which they will be more effective in mobilizing votes for the party among their relatives and friends. He further encouraged them to establish Executive structures comprised of 27 members in the 305 electoral wards in the State, and assured them of the usual support of the National Vice Chairman South-East, Dr. Ijeoma Arodiogbu.

The Chairman of all support groups, Mr. Darlington, promised them that their preparedness will be showcased in a mega rally for all support groups in Imo state holding soon. Also in attendance were the State Woman Leader of our great party, known to be the woman with a golden voice, the State Welfare Secretary, the State Organizing Secretary, and
the State Publicity Secretary.
