Garlands For Late Hyacinth Uzoechi, As Son Chijioke And Siblings Honour Him

… Pays WAEC Fees for Indent Students in the Community
… Distributes Education Materials to Primary And Secondary Schools

In what will count as a resounding memorial programme, for their departed Patriarch, Chief Hyacinth Uzoechi, his children, led by the first son, Chijioke Uzoechi have embarked on an Education Endowment which, they are starting small, and promising to make it big, as the years roll by.

On Wednesday February 1st 2023, Uzoechi Chijioke, in company of the community leaders, extended family members as well as friends visited Primary and Secondary Schools in his community, Eziama, Ikeduru Local Government Area, to distribute custom made Education materials.

This distribution was backed with endowment fund for best performing pupils in the Primary Schools.

At the Secondary School, Uzoechi Chijioke through the help of the community leaders identified indigent Students from every village in Eziama, and instantly paid, in full, for their Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) enrollment. This payment, specifically for West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) Exams was made directly to the various schools, in the presence of the community leaders.

He urged them to put in their best, as he intends to further assist those who come tops in the SSCE Exams, in their tertiary education endeavour.

Mr. Uzoechi later took to his social media handle and wrote:

“To the Glory of God and in loving memory of our dearly beloved father, today we paid the WAEC FEES of selected indigent smart kids and shared academic materials to the schools in Eziama, Ikeduru. Our father was a lover of education and human empowerment, so the best way to remember him and celebrate is to empower people with the basic certificate which is WAEC under the auspices of the foundation registered to perpetuate his legacy. And we’ll continue to do this, as God helps us, as a way to keep commemorating the life and times of Chief Barr. Hyacinth I. Uzoechi.

May his soul keep resting in Peace.”

Mr. Chijioke Uzoechi reiterated that the Education Endowment was totally envisioned and funded by his family, thus not a political tool for electioneering purpose.

The WAEC payment event took place at the Eziama Town Hall, by the community market and attracted encomiums from the community leaders, led by the President General, Mr. Maxwell Uzurumba, Who noted, with pride, that there would have been no better way to immortalize the late Chief Hyacinth Uzoechi who so loved education, and also supported many in the community, including himself, to pursue their academic dreams.

Others who spoke at the event include the Town Union Secretary General, Barnabas Amanze, the woman leader, Mrs. Dorathy Ugochukwu, and friends of late Chief Hyacinth Uzoechi, Elder Sam Opara and Chief Wince Duruaku, Francis Udoka Ndimkoha, among others.

The family had earlier attended a memorial mass at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Eziama, in honour of their late Patriarch, Chief Hyacinth Uzoechi, on Sunday January 29th 2023.
