Imo Varsity Gets New Vice Chancellor, as Gov. Hope Uzodimma Makes Fresh Appointment
Uzodimma Appoints Prof. Frances Ngozi Chukwukere as VC of K. O. Mbadiwe University.
The Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, GSGI, has approved the appointment of Professor Frances Ngozi Chukwukere as Vice-Chancellor of K. O. Mbadiwe University, Ogboko.
In a statement, the Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Hon. Declan Emelumba, said Prof. Chukwukere’s appointment takes immediate effect.
Before her appointment, Prof. Chukwukere was a Professor of Linguistics at Imo State University, Owerri.
An accomplished academic and author, Prof. Chukwukere is known for her work in indigenous knowledge, health-related advocacy and language preservation.
She was recently one of the specialised academics appointed by Ohanaeze Ndigbo to help revive and strengthen the Igbo language.
