I, Hon Deacon Chike Okafor, Ph.D, member representing Ehime Mbano, Ihitte Uboma, Obowo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, on behalf of my constituents, congratulate a very consummate journalist and Vanguard Newspaper correspondent, CHINONSO ALOZIE on his emergence as Chairman, Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Imo State
Your emergence as the new Chairman on Thursday, February 22, 2024, in a free, fair, and rancour-free poll is a testimony to your sterling leadership qualities and grace of God upon your life
That your colleagues who are critical members of the society, being the fourth estate of the realm, repose enormous confidence in you and have accepted you to lead them, is a measure of your credibility, humility and astuteness.
Again, I understand that your election is coming a month after you were announced as the 2023 Investigative Journalist of the Year; this further tells of your uniqueness.
I pray that during your reign, the chapel would be galvanized into a more formidable force for the mobilization of the Imo populace to contribute to the growth and advancement of the state.
