Offekatta III Autonomous Community, Awo-Omamma, Set Records Straight, Protests Against Detractors, Drum Support for Governor Uzodimma and Anthan Ltd

The people of Offekatta III Autonomous Community in Awo-Omamma, Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State, have taken a stand to defend the integrity of their leadership and development projects. In a peaceful protest held at the office of Commissioner for Niger delta Affairs and Intelligence, Dr. Henry Okafor, the community expressed its displeasure against certain detractors led by Akaolisa Francis whom they accused of spreading misinformation and attempting to destabilize their progress.

The protest, which saw a large turnout of residents of the community, youth groups, and traditional leaders, aimed to set the records straight, regarding the ongoing developmental efforts in the area. The people reaffirmed their unwavering support for the Imo State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma and Anthan Ltd, an oil company spearheading key projects in the community.

Speaking during the demonstration, community representatives emphasized that Governor Uzodimma’s administration has played a pivotal role in the infrastructural and economic advancement of Offekatta III Autonomous Community, Awo-Omamma. They described the detractors as individuals with selfish interests, working against the collective good of the people.

Chief Boniface Chinagu, a prominent leader, stated:
“We will not allow falsehoods to derail the progress we have witnessed under the leadership of Governor Hope Uzodimma. His administration has shown commitment to our development, and we stand firmly behind him. Anthan Ltd has also been instrumental in executing critical projects that benefit our people, and we reject any attempts to sabotage their efforts.”


He further clearly stated that the community is yet to have a President-General, as they await the Governor’s handing over of the staff of office to their Eze-Elect.

Community youths, led by the community Youth leader, Hon. Nwoke Anthony martins, echoed similar concerns, stressing that they will not tolerate actions aimed at undermining their peace and development. They called on security agencies to intervene against those inciting unrest in the area.

The demonstrators carried placards with inscriptions such as “Bayo must Go” “Offekatta III Stands with Uzodimma,” “We are happy with Kemo and Emma,” “Development Over Destruction,” and “No to Detractors, Yes to Progress.”

In his response, the Commissioner for Niger delta Affairs and Intelligence, Dr. Henry Okafor, called for unity among community members and a reaffirmation of their commitment to progress, urging all stakeholders to focus on the collective well-being of Offekatta III Autonomous Community and their unwavering support for the administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma.
