Senator OUK has personally visited the site of an ongoing gully erosion control project in Abia North Senatorial District to assess progress on a major Federal Government intervention approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The lawmaker, who facilitated the project, described the initiative as critical to the survival of communities in the district, where gully erosion has continued to pose a serious threat to homes, roads, lives, and property.

“I personally inspected the ongoing erosion control project I facilitated in our Senatorial district as a Federal Government intervention under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Senator OUK stated during the inspection.

He emphasised that the project holds immense importance for the people, adding: “This project is very important to our people because the gully erosion has continued to threaten homes, roads, lives and properties in the area. I will not fold my arms and watch our communities suffer when solutions are possible.”

The Senator explained that his on-site visit was aimed at ensuring swift execution and adherence to the highest engineering standards. “My inspection is to ensure the work is done with speed and according to the highest standard so that our people can finally be safe from the devastating impact of erosion,” he said.

While commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the prompt approval of the intervention, Senator OUK gave a firm assurance to constituents that he remains committed to attracting more developmental projects to the zone.

“I appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving this intervention, and I assure our people that I will continue to use my legislative position to attract more projects that will protect lives, restore infrastructure and improve the well-being of our communities in Abia North,” he declared.

The erosion control project is expected to bring lasting relief to several communities that have suffered repeated devastation from gully erosion in recent years. Residents have welcomed the Senator’s hands-on approach and his pledge to sustain federal support for the district.
