
Sen Orji Uzor Kalu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and other top APC lawmakers undergo screening ahead of party primaries in Abuja
Former Abia State Governor and Senator representing Abia North, , has confirmed that he was screened by the All Progressives Congress (APC) alongside Senate President and other ranking lawmakers ahead of the party’s forthcoming primary elections.

Kalu disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, noting that the screening exercise was conducted by the APC screening committee in Abuja.
According to the senator, those screened included the Deputy President of the Senate, the Senate Majority Leader, and several other lawmakers seeking the party’s ticket for the next election cycle.
He commended the leadership of the APC for what he described as a seamless and professionally coordinated screening process.
Kalu specifically appreciated the APC National Chairman, the National Secretary, the National Organising Secretary, members of the National Working Committee, as well as the chairman and members of the screening committee for their organisation and commitment.
The senator said the smooth conduct of the exercise reflects what he called the “remarkable improvement” in the party’s machinery and leadership coordination.
The APC recently commenced the screening of aspirants for Senate and House of Representatives positions as part of preparations for its primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.
