The dust from the party primaries has settled and the choice before Ngor Okpala is now crystal clear. Rt. Hon. Obinna Egu, Ph.D has emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 State House of Assembly election. For a constituency at a critical point in our democracy, this is not just about party, it is about direction. Ngor Okpala must decide whether to choose progress or retrogress.

At this critical time in our political journey, connection to the ruling party matters more than slogans. Governance in Nigeria runs through alignment and access. To the ordinary man, it may sound like politics, but those who understand how the system operates know that opposition lawmakers are often treated with restraint and left to fate. Budgetary priorities, committee placements, and access to executive decisions flow faster when your representative speaks the same language as government. Ngor Okpala cannot afford to disconnect from the center of power.

To say the least, Rt. Hon. Obinna Egu has performed creditably to earn another term. His current tenure is being defined by legislative diligence, constituency engagement, and projects that touches real lives. He is not in the House just to warm a seat. He came to legislate, to attract development, and to stand for the people of Ngor Okpala at every critical moment. That record of service is why the APC and the people gave him their mandate again.

His years of legislative experience will be an added advantage for the constituency. Lawmaking is a craft that improves with time. Obinna understands the rules, the procedures, and how to move motions that become policy; for instance the bill which has now become the Imo State Electricity Law of 2024, a legislation that established the Imo State Electricity Regulatory Commission (ISERC), paving the way for the state to officially take over regulatory oversight of its internal electricity market from the federal government on July 1, 2024; & the Motion which gave birth to the Reconstitution of the Board of Imo Roads Maintenance Agency(IROMA) are both Standing in his name as Chief Sponsor.
No doubt With such experience, he will be one of the ranking members of the 11th Assembly when by the Grace of God and the vote of Ngor Okpala people he wins in 2027. In lawmaking, ranking comes with Respect, more influence, more resources, and a stronger voice for Ngor Okpala in Imo State’s decision-making table.

Education and intellect also matter in the House. Rt. Hon. Obinna is educationally sound, a Ph.D holder and policy mind who debates issues with facts, not noise. His qualifications and intelligence allows him to break down complex government policies for his people and translate constituency needs into bills and resolutions that the executive can act on. In a House of 27 members, depth counts.

His visible accomplishments already speak volumes. So far he has attracted several projects ranging from Health Centers, School renovations, Water Projects, employments, Special bursaries for Students, free medical services through the Imo State health Insurance, youth empowerment and skills trainings in various vocations such as Welding, Fork-lift operations, Etc. He has also maintained an open-door policy that made his office very much accessible to every Dick & Harry in Ngor Okpala.

Now that primaries are over, the wise move for Ngor Okpala is to rise above politics of hatred and bitterness. Across party lines, leaders, stakeholders, and the average voter should rally around a man who is deeply rooted in legislative experience and native intelligence. This is not about APC alone, it is about Ngor Okpala. When we send our best, the entire LGA benefits through projects, appointments, and influence.

The 2027 election presents Ngor Okpala with a simple choice. We can stay on the path of progress by re-electing a tested lawmaker who has access, experience, and results. Or we can gamble on retrogress by starting afresh with a voice that the system will ignore. For the sake of our future, Rt. Hon. Obinna Egu, Ph.D is the safe, more qualified, smart, and strategic choice for Ngor Okpala State Constituency.
