
NLC Honours ISOPADEC MD, Chief Austin Onyedebelu, With Excellence Award For Workers’ Welfare
The Managing Director of the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC), Chief Austin Onyedebelu, has been honoured with an Award of Excellence by the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Imo State Chapter, Comrade Uche Chigaemezu Nwigwe, in recognition of his outstanding commitment to workers’ welfare and his exemplary leadership style.
Presenting the award, Comrade Nwigwe described Chief Onyedebelu as a “workers’ friend and leader,” noting that the management of ISOPADEC under his stewardship has created a conducive and harmonious working environment for staff.
According to the NLC Chairman, workers of the Commission have consistently testified to the Managing Director’s open-door policy, responsiveness to workers’ concerns, and dedication to staff welfare.
“ISOPADEC workers have attested to your open-door policy, welfare packages, and the worker-friendly environment you have created. As a Congress, we have come to say thank you. Your word is your bond, and your workers are commending you for the welfare and support you have continued to provide,” Comrade Nwigwe stated.
Responding, the Managing Director of ISOPADEC, Chief Austin Onyedebelu, expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress for the recognition and for their continued understanding, support, and commitment towards resolving issues affecting workers across the state.
Chief Onyedebelu dedicated the award to the Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, whose leadership and support, he said, have made it possible for the Commission to prioritize workers’ welfare while advancing developmental projects in the oil-producing communities of the state.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to maintaining industrial harmony, improving staff welfare, and ensuring that ISOPADEC continues to fulfill its mandate of driving sustainable development in the oil-producing areas.
Speaking on behalf of the staff, one of the workers commended the Managing Director for his people-oriented leadership and expressed the workforce’s appreciation for the positive changes witnessed within the Commission.
“Of a truth, ISOPADEC workers are now happy. ISOPADEC workers are strongly behind you. We are assuring you of peace and harmony. We also urge you to continue with your good work,” the staff member said.
The event highlighted the cordial relationship between the Commission’s management and workforce and underscored ISOPADEC’s commitment to fostering a productive, motivated, and welfare-driven work environment.
