Landmark Africa Unveils Plans for 20,000-Capacity Dream Theatre Entertainment Centre in Lagos
Lagos could soon be home to one of Africa’s most ambitious indoor entertainment venues as Landmark Africa unveils plans for the Dream Theatre Entertainment Centre, a proposed 20,000-seat multipurpose arena at Landmark Village, Oniru.
Designed as a world-class venue for concerts, theatre productions, sporting events, exhibitions, conferences and award ceremonies, the Dream Theatre aims to strengthen Lagos’ position as West Africa’s leading destination for entertainment, tourism and business.
Beyond hosting large-scale events, the development is expected to form part of Landmark’s integrated waterfront ecosystem, combining hospitality, leisure, retail and entertainment in a single destination. This approach is intended to attract both local and international visitors while supporting the continued growth of Nigeria’s creative economy.
It is worth noting that this announcement comes just over two years after Landmark Africa experienced a major setback. In 2024, parts of the company’s Landmark Beach Resort were demolished to make way for the construction of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, with the Federal Government stating that the affected structures were located within the approved right-of-way for the project.
Rather than slowing down, Landmark Africa has responded with another bold vision. The proposed Dream Theatre reflects the company’s confidence in Nigeria’s future and its continued commitment to investing in tourism, entertainment and urban development despite previous challenges.
Projects of this scale also have significant economic benefits. Beyond creating a world-class venue, they generate employment during construction and operation, stimulate tourism, support hotels, restaurants, transport services and small businesses, while attracting further private investment into the surrounding area.
