Photos: UBA Reunion Brings Past and Present Staff Together
History was made on Saturday, August 8, 2026, as past and present staff of United Bank for Africa (UBA) in Imo State came together for a memorable get together that rekindled old friendships, shared cherished memories and celebrated their collective experiences.
The reunion, which was initially conceived as a low-key get-together, turned into a colourful carnival of sorts, attracting almost 80 past and serving staff of the financial institution from across Imo State.
The event, held at the Protea Hotel Owerri provided a rare opportunity for former colleagues who had worked together in different UBA business offices to reconnect, reminisce and celebrate the bonds forged during their years of service.
The programme commenced with the accreditation and introduction of participants, after which the atmosphere became increasingly lively as members shared memorable experiences from their years at UBA.
One of the major highlights of the event was the sharing of notable past experiences at various Business Offices (B.O.), led by Francis Ndimkoha, PhD, and other participants. Their recollections generated laughter, nostalgia and excitement, as attendees remembered the challenges, achievements and friendships that characterised their years at the bank.
The reunion also featured an abundance of food, drinks and refreshments, giving participants ample opportunity to relax, interact and catch up with one another in a convivial atmosphere.
As the event progressed, participants took to the dance floor, transforming the gathering into a lively celebration filled with music, dancing and merriment.
A goodwill message was also delivered by the convener and major sponsor of the event, “Onwa”, who expressed appreciation to the organisers and participants for making the reunion a reality.
The event was widely described by participants as a remarkable initiative that demonstrated the enduring relationships and camaraderie among past and present UBA staff in Imo State.
Beyond the food, music and entertainment, the gathering provided an opportunity for participants to reconnect with old colleagues, celebrate their shared history and strengthen the bonds that have continued to endure beyond the workplace.
The successful gathering has consequently set the stage for what many participants hope will become a regular reunion, bringing together the growing family of past and present UBA staff in Imo State.
