ISOPADEC MD Chief Austin Onyedebelu Holds Working Visits To NDE, NADDC, Seeks Strategic Partnership For Youth Development
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC), Chief Austin Onyedebelu, has paid separate working visits to the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) and the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) in Abuja.
The visits formed part of the new administration’s efforts to establish strategic partnerships with key federal agencies and attract programmes, interventions and opportunities to Imo State, particularly the oil-producing communities.
During his visit to the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Chief Onyedebelu met with the Director-General, H.E. Silas Agara, where discussions focused on opportunities for collaboration and the possibility of cascading NDE programmes and interventions to Imo State.
The ISOPADEC Managing Director expressed the Commission’s interest in leveraging the expertise and programmes of the NDE to create greater opportunities for youths across the state, particularly in employment generation, skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, vocational training, job creation and sustainable livelihood development.
At the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Chief Onyedebelu met with the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Joseph Osanipin, to explore areas of strategic collaboration in the automotive sector.
Discussions focused on automotive skills development, technical and vocational training, youth empowerment, entrepreneurship and employment opportunities, as well as the potential for collaboration on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicle conversion and Electric Vehicle (EV) technology.
The ISOPADEC MD expressed interest in creating opportunities for youths in the oil-producing areas to acquire relevant technical skills in emerging automotive technologies, including CNG conversion, maintenance and servicing, EV technology and other aspects of the evolving automotive value chain.
The engagement also explored how NADDC programmes and technical expertise could be extended to Imo State to support skills development, job creation, innovation and sustainable transportation solutions.
Chief Onyedebelu said ISOPADEC is committed to building strong partnerships with federal agencies whose programmes can be effectively deployed to improve the lives of people in the oil-producing communities.
The working visits underscore the Commission’s renewed commitment to youth empowerment, employment creation, technical skills development, entrepreneurship and sustainable economic development through strategic partnerships with government institutions and other relevant stakeholders.
