Lokpobiri Celebrates Bayelsa At 30; Three Decades Of Resilience, Progress, And Collective Development
The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, Ph.D., has congratulated the Government and people of Bayelsa State on the 30th anniversary of the State’s creation, describing the milestone as a celebration of resilience, unity, sacrifice, and the collective commitment of Bayelsans to the growth and development of their State.
In a goodwill message to commemorate the anniversary, Sen. Lokpobiri acknowledged the contributions of founding leaders, traditional institutions, religious bodies, professionals, youths, women, and citizens whose efforts over the past three decades have continued to shape Bayelsa and move it from its formative years towards greater development and prosperity.
“Thirty years of Bayelsa State is more than a celebration of the passage of time. It is a celebration of the dedication, sacrifices, and contributions of every Bayelsan who, in one way or another, has contributed to building and transforming our dear State,” he said.
The Minister extended his warm felicitations to His Excellency, Sen. Douye Diri, members of the State Executive Council, the Speaker and Honourable Members of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, the Honourable Chief Judge and Justices, the Chairman and Members of the State Traditional Rulers Council, religious leaders, and the entire people of Bayelsa State.
A release by Nneamaka Okafor, Media and Communications aide to the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), says Sen. Lokpobiri noted that Bayelsa has made several important decisions throughout its 30-year journey, stressing that the State’s current alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, represents another significant strategic decision towards accelerating development and unlocking greater opportunities for its people.
“Today, we can see visible developmental strides across various sectors and parts of the State. We must, therefore, sustain this positive direction and continue to build on the progress already recorded in the interest of our collective growth and prosperity,” he stated.
He called for continued unity, cooperation, and commitment among Bayelsans, while wishing the State sustained peace, development, and prosperity as it begins another chapter in its journey.
“Happy 30th anniversary to our dear Bayelsa State. May the next 30 years bring even greater achievements and opportunities for all Bayelsans,” Sen. Lokpobiri added.
