… Urges expatriate medical practitioners to consider Nigeria as an investment destination
After delivering a paper at the Surrey University, in the UK on 29th March, 2017, on the topic ” Africa’s Troubled Giant, reflections on economic and political turmoil in Nigeria”, the member Representing Okigwe South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, and chairman House committee on Health Care Services, Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor jetted off to Eastern Kentucky University, in the United States of America, to deliver a paper on the topic “Reflections on the Health care Services in Nigeria and the challenges of Medical Tourism”.
Upon arrival at the citadel of learning, he was received by the Director of African- American studies programme, Prof. Ogechi Anyanwu and other academic staff of the faculty and hosted to a pre colloquium lunch cum familiarisation session.
The lecture commenced thereafter after Hon. Okafor held the hall spell bound with an incisive in which he X-rayed the present situation of Nigeria’s health care services, in contradistinction to that of the United States and raised hope that Nigeria stands a chance to become a Medical Tourism destination if the funds he and his fellow legislators appropriate to the health sector is properly utilised and of course if the United States of America increases her interest and investment in Nigeria’s health sector.
At the end of the lecture, he was honoured as a Guest speaker by the Director, Prof. Ogechi Anyanwu.
