A yet to be identified woman has been arrested at Sam mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri, with a tender baby, of about a week old.

This arrest followed a tip off from a passenger who was waiting to board Owerri-Abuja Air Peace flight scheduled for 8:30am, on Saturday 17th July, 2021.

The passenger said she suspected, as a mother, that the baby was to young for exposure, let alone for flight, and also noticed the obvious discomfort by the lady carrying the child.

The passenger quietly and promptly alerted airport officials who quickly accosted the lady and when she became jittery and unable to explain herself, the police was quickly invited.

The lady was taken into custody at Imo Airport Police station. And no information has been made available by the police, at press time, not even the name of the suspect.

The Activist Media will monitor the story as it develops and bring you details.
