Meet Sam Chimaobi Atu, The BUS-DRIVER Who Won House Of Reps Seat In Enugu State

Chimaobi Sam Atu of the Labour Party was declared winner of the Enugu North/South Federal Constituency election conducted on Saturday, the 25th of February, 2023, defeating a third-term member of the House of Representatives, Oforchukwu Egbo of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

Declaring the result, the INEC Returning Officer, Dr. (Mrs.) Evelyn Ijeoma Ezepue announced that Chimaobi Atu of the Labour Party secured a total of 65,247 to defeat his closest opponents, Hon. Nnonso Nnamani of APGA and Hon. Offor Chukwuegbo of the PDP.

Atu was, therefore, returned elected after satisfying all the requirements of the law.

Details of the results showed that Offor Chukwuegbo polled a total of 7,617 votes, while Hon. Nnonso Nnamani scored a total of 9215. The APC candidate, Hon. Juliet Egbo scored 2394 votes.

Atu is a native of Ndiaga Ugwuaji in Enugu South Local Government Area of Enugu State.
