The Imo State House of Assembly recalled two suspended lawmakers, Okey Onyekanma, Mbaitoli Constituency and Ekene Nnodumele,Orsu Constituency the lawmakers were suspended from the House 18 months ago.

Rt Hon. Okey Onyekanma , who is the immediate past deputy speaker of the parliament and Nnodumele, a former minority leader of the House were both recalled today Thursday 4th May 2023 during plenary.

Recall that the lawmakers were suspended on November 8, 2021, the same day a former speaker, Paul Emezim was impeached.

The decision to recall the suspended lawmakers was sequel to a report of an adhoc committee headed by the 9th House majority leader and member representing Owerri west state constituency, Kanayo Onyemaechi.
