- As All Political Blocs In Obowo Endorse Governor For Second Term!
The ward to ward tour/rally for the re-election of Governor Hope Uzodimma ahead of the forthcoming Imo governoship election organized by Obowo chapter of APC ably led by Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor with Hon. Lady Love Ineh and Chief Alex Mbakwe in the backline, ended yesterday in absolute sublimity.
The team crisscrossed the entire political terrain of Obowo made up of ten (10) political wards, galvanising massive support irrespective of party or interest in preparation for the Governor’s re-election. It also saw all the major POLITICAL BLOCS in the LGA endorsing the Governor for a second term in office in order to respect the newly birthed Charter-Of-Equity in the State.
In his separate remarks during both rallies, Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor, posited that the best thing that will ever happen to Ndimo and Obowo people in particular, is the re-election of Governor Hope Uzodimma for a second term. He noted that what the Governor has achieved irrespective the many challenges he met on ground when he assumed Office three and half years ago, will definitely be inscribed in the history of the State.
He charged APC leaders and supporters to brace up properly for the onerous task of delivering overwhelming votes for the Governor in Obowo come November 11 governoship election, and recapped by asserting clearly that Obowo as a local government is a strong beneficiary of the Governor’s 3R government maintaining that the only way to pay the Governor back is by prioritizing his re-election with the targeted results.
A leader of the party in Obowo and Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban development Hon. Lady Love Ineh, stated in both rallies that for them to reciprocate the Governor’s love for the people of Obowo they must all work hard to deliver him with wide margin as that should be the only thing which should be sacrosanct.
In Avutu ward in particular, being the political ward to late Dee Sam Mbakwe of the blessed memory, his first son who doubles as a member of Obowo APC campaign council team Chief Alex Mbakwe, informed his people that even his late father (Mbakwe) will not be happy if the people of Avutu fail to give all their votes to Governor Hope Uzodimma being the first and only Governor that has tremendously remembered his family. He therefore, pleaded with them not to relent in mobilising for support and canvassing for votes for the Governor ahead of the November election.
Contributing, the first daughter of the late former Governor, Lady Patience Mbakwe, thanked Governor Hope Uzodimma for renovating Mbakwe’s family House. She noted that she can confirm that Governor Uzodimma has awarded the dilapidated Mbakwe Road in Obowo and as soon as the rain subsides, that the construction work will kick-start. She pleaded with them to show strength across their various polling booths on the day of the election in order to return him to Douglas House.
So many personalities graced the two political rallies yesterday, in no particular order, the Sole Administrator of Obowo local government Hon. Pius Uwaleme, a serving Commissioner in Imo State House of Assembly service Commission Barr. Mike Nduleche, APC State Youth Leader Hon. Udoka Iwueke, former commissioner for Youths and Talent development Hon. Ifeanyichukwu Onwueyiagba, former T.C Chairman of Obowo LGA Hon. Chidi Nwoke, the candidate of AA in the last House of Assembly election Hon. Nzenwa Nwosu, the candidate of APGA Hon. Ebere Ugo, the candidate of YPP Hon. Kingsley Iruanu, Ward Chairmen of APC, President Generals, Youth Leaders, among so many others.
