Air Peace dismisses viral report of fare increase

Nigeria’s largest airline, Air Peace, has refuted viral claims that it plans to double its one-way ticket price from Lagos to Abuja.

Addressing these rumors in a post on X (formerly Twitter), the airline clarified that the alleged price increase is false and did not originate from the company.

In its statement, Air Peace said, “We would like to categorically state that this information is false and did not originate from Air Peace. We have not released any official statement regarding a fare increase as described, and any announcements regarding our pricing would only be made through our verified channels. We encourage our valued customers and clients to rely exclusively on our above platforms for accurate updates and information on fares.”

The rumor, which circulated last week, suggested that Air Peace would raise one-way ticket prices from Lagos to Abuja to ₦200,000 starting November 1, 2024. The post caused concern among Nigerians, many of whom have already turned to alternative travel methods due to rising airfares.

Air Peace has reassured passengers to ignore the false reports and rely on official channels for verified information.
