Only criminals run on sighting security Agencies as Nze Emeka Andrew Obiefula evades arrest, by allegedly jumping Okada to escape

…Risks 10 years of Imprisonment or more

In what could be best described as a gestapo display of “street” talent , Nze Emeka Andrew Obiefula from Ndihunogbo Village in Umuezeanoruo Eziama Autonomous Community, Nkwerre LGA who is involved in an Eze-ship tussle has once again allegedly evaded police arrest and he is at large.

Information has it that on the evening of Friday, 24th January, 2025, a detachment of Police Officers from Force headquarters, Abuja were deployed to Umuezeanoruo Eziama Autonomous Community, Nkwerre LGA, Imo State, detailed to arrest Nze Emeka Andrew Obiefula in response to criminal charges against him as contained in the petition from his community including illegal possession of firearm (a pistol) which he uses to harass and intimidate people at will.

In the evening of the day, the Police officers trailed him to his house at Ndihunogbo Village, but on sighting them, allegedly , with the help of his personal security agents , he escaped from the house by mounting an Okada, commercial motorcyclist and escaped in a manner that best could only be done by someone who has special training in running away from security agencies.

The security agencies however left an invitation for him to honour or he will be declared wanted globally.

Recall that the same scenario took place a few weeks ago when he was also wanted by the Police authority from Zone 9 Umuahia,Abia State during which it was alleged that he also escaped by scaling the perimeter fence in the compound to evade arrest which he blatantly denied.

Nze Emeka Andrew Obiefula has shown that he has a legendary talent of evading police arrest when wanted over criminal charges which may be what he learnt from the “street” as he resides in the USA.

Reacting to the development, a chieftain of the community, who pleaded for anonymity for fear of being victimized wondered why a titled man like him will be exhibiting criminal tendencies of running away from the security agencies instead of making himself available and respond to charges against him .

“This is totally awful because if what he is laying claim is genuine, why always on the run when called upon to defend himself?. This is unlike his opponent , Eze Emmanuel Ekwujuru Uzoho, the only community crowned Eze till date that is always available whenever needed by the security agencies to answer for any petition”.

“In fact, from the look of things, Nze Emeka Andrew Obiefula should stop breaching public peace and leave what he is not due for . The gods of the land will definitely come after him . I have not seen where someone that claims to be a traditional ruler abandons his so-called throne on sighting of legitimate security agencies. Only a non genuine person that has criminal tendencies will do that. When you leave your throne and always abscond especially in the manner reported, abandoning your so-called kingdom, it speaks volume of your character and questions the legitimacy of your claim “, he added.

Similarly, the stakeholders from the community, Umuezeanoruo Eziama Autonomous Community have appealed to Nze Emeka Andrew Obiefula to stop causing further commotion in the community in his quest to snatch the throne by all means.

They advised him to allow the law to take its toll on the matter as it is before the Supreme Court to decide instead of taking advantage of his deep pocket against the present community crowned traditional ruler.

The stakeholders described his high level of impatience to Court process and flagrant disobedience to the traditional process of making a king as uncalled for owing to the fact that in order to put in place his inordinate ambition, he has demonstrated extreme habits of desperation which have put the community in total chaos and wondered what a young man of his age will gain in setting his hometown on fire because he wants to be the Eze by all means.

Investigation had it that the controversial Nze Emeka Andrew Obiefula, alongside others failed the Eze selection screening exercise based on the community’s constitution by not meeting up with the academic requirements. Instead of allowing peace to reign in the Community like others that were screened out did , Nze Emeka Andrew Obiefula went to the High Court and lost the judgement.

Not satisfied, he appealed and got judgment from the Appeal Court. His opponent has long taken the matter to Supreme Court which is a superior Court but Nze Emeka Andrew Obiefula,in his impatience refused to acknowledge the fact that statue quo should remain till the supreme Court gives judgement as he goes about parading himself as the Traditional Ruler without being coronated, no staff of office, no government recognition including the Imo State Council of Traditional rulers as he is not allowed to attend their meetings.

Rather , he set up a parallel Town Union government, all in efforts to destabilize the community and plunge it into total confusion.

Further investigation showed that the community is living in fear as Nze Emeka Andrew Obiefula uses security agencies to harass, intimidate and molest whoever that tries to call him to order, those he labeled his enemies.

The community also used the opportunity to call on the Inspector General of Police to call him to order especially as he goes about with an illegal arm , shooting at will into the air in public occasions, driving fear further into the local populace in order to continue with his rogue statue as evidenced on 25th December, 2024 during a public event at Okorocha Traditional dance by Umunze Eziachi, Orlu LGA, Imo State, a neighboring community during when he was seen shooting gun sporadically after spraying Naira Notes on the dance (Naira Abuse, a criminal offence with not less than 6 months jail term). This evidence is confirmed by the Police authority as we speak.

The community equally called on the friends of Nze Emeka Andrew Obiefula to advise him properly on the need to respect the sacredness of the traditional institution in Igbo land.

They reminded him that Court does not do coronation of an Eze and at such he should exercise patience and wait for the outcome of the supreme Court judgment which will be followed by proper coronation instead of the archaic efforts of imposing himself on the people.
