Odebube Cosmas Maduba Consults Ozb Ugonna Ozurigbo Support Group Across Nkwerre, Isu, Nwangele, Njaba Federal Constituency
The APC candidate for the Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency, Chief Cosmas Maduba, popularly known as Odebube Isu, on Saturday, September 19, 2026, paid a strategic consultation visit to Maradiya Lodge, Umuozu, Nwangele Local Government Area, the palatial residence of former federal lawmaker, Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo (OZB).
The visit brought together members and leaders of the OZB Support Group from the four Local Government Areas that make up the federal constituency, in what provided an opportunity for Chief Maduba to interface directly with the group’s grassroots structures and stakeholders.
Speaking at the gathering, Maduba expressed appreciation for the reception and the strength of the structure assembled across the constituency. He said the gathering offered him, for the first time, an opportunity to witness the depth and organisation of the OZB Support Group, describing it as a formidable grassroots structure.
Maduba praised Ozurigbo for what he described as his goal-oriented approach to leadership and politics, noting that his record of political engagement had earned him considerable goodwill among his supporters. He added that the strength of OZB was reflected in the calibre and commitment of the people who make up the OZB Support Group.
He consequently appealed for the support and cooperation of the group, promising to draw from Ozurigbo’s leadership style and experience as he pursues his ambition to represent the constituency.
The atmosphere at the meeting was warm and convivial, as members of the group responded enthusiastically to Maduba’s remarks. His calm and people-oriented disposition, coupled with moments of humour during his interaction with the gathering, generated laughter and further added to the cordiality of the occasion.
In his remarks, Rt. Hon. Ozurigbo declared his support for Chief Cosmas Maduba, stating that Odebube Isu was the candidate he was backing for the federal constituency seat.
Ozurigbo said his position became necessary following what he described as attempts by candidates and supporters of other political parties to associate his name with their respective campaigns. He therefore used the occasion to publicly clarify his position and urged members of the OZB Support Group to extend the same goodwill and support they have shown him to Maduba.
He assured the gathering of his commitment to the candidate and urged the group to work together in support of Maduba’s candidacy.
Ozurigbo also declared his support for the APC candidates across the various levels of the 2027 elections, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC senatorial candidate for Orlu Senatorial District, Senator Hope Uzodimma, as well as APC candidates for the Imo State House of Assembly within the federal constituency.
The high point of the gathering came when Rt. Hon. Ozurigbo raised the hand of Chief Cosmas Maduba before the assembled members of the OZB Support Group, in a symbolic demonstration of his public support for the APC candidate.
The gesture brought the consultation visit to a memorable close, as members of the OZB Support Group received the declaration with enthusiasm and solidarity.
