The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri Ph.D, has described the massive turnout recorded during the All Progressives Congress (APC) Direct Presidential Primary Election across Bayelsa State as a strong affirmation of the people’s confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Renewed Hope Agenda.

Speaking after the exercise across various wards in the State, Sen. Lokpobiri commended party faithful, stakeholders, electoral officials, and security agencies for ensuring a peaceful, transparent, orderly, and credible process across all 105 political wards in Bayelsa State, including the 12 wards in Ekeremor Local Government Area.
The Minister noted that the unprecedented participation witnessed during the exercise reflects the growing acceptance of the APC and the increasing confidence of Nigerians in the transformative policies and reforms being implemented by the Tinubu administration.
According to him, the administration has continued to pursue bold economic reforms, strategic investments, infrastructure development, and people-oriented programmes designed to reposition Nigeria for sustainable growth, energy security, job creation, and long-term national prosperity.
Senator Lokpobiri stated that the enthusiasm and unity displayed by party members during the primary serve as a clear political signal ahead of the general election.
“What we have witnessed today is beyond a routine party exercise. This presidential primary is a clear indication of what will happen in the general election. The overwhelming turnout across Bayelsa State demonstrates that our people believe in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and are fully aligned with the Renewed Hope vision.
A release by Nneamaka Okafor, Special Adviser, Media and Communications, Office of the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), says, Bayelsa State is overwhelmingly APC, and the energy, unity, and participation we have seen today confirm that the party remains deeply rooted among the grassroots,” he said.
He further emphasized that the level of participation recorded across the State represents one of the strongest demonstrations of internal party democracy and political mobilization in recent times, stressing that “there is no greater endorsement of leadership than the willingness of the people to come out freely and participate in the democratic process.”
The Minister also applauded the maturity, discipline, and unity exhibited by APC members throughout the exercise, noting that the peaceful conduct and transparent outcome further strengthen public confidence in democracy and the electoral process.
Sen. Lokpobiri urged party supporters, stakeholders, and the people of Bayelsa State to remain steadfast, united, and committed as the APC advances toward the next phase of political engagement and national consolidation.
