Orji Kalu Celebrates International Youth Day, Says Nigerian Youths Are Resilient

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North Senatorial District, has celebrated Nigerian youths on the occasion of International Youth Day, commending their resilience, innovation, and determination in contributing to national development despite challenging economic circumstances.

In a message posted on his official Facebook page, Senator Kalu expressed admiration for millions of Nigerian youths whose courage and creativity continue to inspire hope in the nation.

“Happy International Youth Day to the resilient, hardworking and innovative young people of our dear country, Nigeria. Today, I celebrate millions of Nigerian youths whose courage, creativity and determination continue to inspire hope in our nation,” he stated.

The senator acknowledged the difficulties facing many young Nigerians whilst urging them to remain focused on their aspirations. “Despite the challenges, you continue to pursue your dreams, acquire skills, build businesses and contribute meaningfully to national development,”

“I understand that these are not easy times for many young Nigerians, but I urge you not to lose hope. Nigeria believes in your potential, and we must continue working to create greater opportunities and an environment where every young person can thrive,” Senator Kalu noted.

The senator emphasised that Nigerian youths are not merely future leaders but active participants in the nation’s current development. “Our youths are not only leaders of tomorrow; you are important partners and leaders in the Nigeria of today,” he declared.

His message concluded with an exhortation for youths to persist in their efforts despite current challenges. “Keep believing in yourselves. Keep working hard. Keep hope alive. The challenges of today will not define your tomorrow,” he urged.

The International Youth Day celebration provides an opportunity to recognise the contributions of young people to society and to highlight challenges they face, including unemployment, inadequate access to quality education, and limited entrepreneurial opportunities.

Senator Kalu has previously sponsored legislative initiatives aimed at youth empowerment, including skills training programmes and scholarship awards for students from Abia North.
