… As Umunwoha Patriotic Front honours the Executive Director of AMCON
For people in a Owerri and its environs, 27th of May, 2017, was just more than the usual Children’s day celebration. It was a day that left enduring memories of the befitting honour done to a dedicated work man. Indeed, may are of the opinion that the event will remain for a very long time, the largest gathering, in Umunwoha, of people from all works of life to celebrate a man who isn’t a politician, Dr. Eberechukwu Fortunate Uneze, Ikemba Umunwoha.
The event which started quietly with a church service at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Orogwe, gradually snowballed into a full blown carnival as Top politicians, captains of industries, Traditional rulers and chiefs soon invaded the Community Primary School, Umunwoha, compound, which happens to be the only venue, in that neighbourhood, that could accommodate the crowd of people that thronged the venue in honour of Dr. Uneze.
The high point of the occasion was the chieftaincy title bestowed on Dr. Eberechukwu Fortunate Uneze, as Ikemba Umunwoha, which recognizes him as the strongest moving force of Umunwoha people. The strength of the people.
The event which was chaired by Sir Cliff Nzimako has in attendance, the Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and his chief of Staff, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu and other government appointees, Senator Ben Uwajumogu, Hon. Chike Okafor, member of the House of Reps, the speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Acho Ihim and a host of other house of Assembly members, Mallam Ahmed Kuru, MD of AMCON and other staff of AMCON, Sir Jude Ejiogu, former secretary to the Government of Imo State, Senator Osita Izunaso, National Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, for member of House of Reps from Delta state, Barr. Chukwuma Ekomaru (SAN), former Imo State commissioner for Youths and sports, Prof. Okey Okoro, Former Imo state commissioner for Petroleum and Chief Librarian of Imo State University, Owerri, Chief Dr. Chidi Anyaegbu, MD/CEO Chisco Transport company, chief C.Y Amako, Prof. Mrs. Victoria Adaobi-Obasi, Ag.
