The last time Okigwe South produced the Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, was a decade ago, precisely, in 2011. And it was from Ihitte-Uboma LGA. So the fact of having a Speaker of Okigwe South extraction, definitely, would excite any leader worthy of his title.
The last time Obowo LGA produced the Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, even for a plenary, was way back in 1992, which is approximately 30 years ago!
Suffice to say, Obowo is in the eyes of history, once again, for having produced a substantive Speaker of the Assembly, for the first time in history.
Little wonder the member representing Ehime-Mbano/ Ihitte-Uboma and Obowo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor quickly shelved his scheduled trip, and skipped his flight, to savour this moment in history, by going to identify with the new Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Kennedy Ibeh , who is himself a son of Obowo, home to the greatest political icon of Imo State, Gov. Sam Onunaka Mbakwe of most blessed memory.
Congratulations Rt. Hon. Kennedy Ibeh.
